Instructions for basic corner to corner

FIRST BLOCK/ROW: with blue, chain 6, DC in 4th chain from hook and next 2 chains.

SECOND ROW: Turn, chain 6, dc in 4th chain from hook and next 2 chains. sl st in next ch 3 space, ch 3, 3 dc in same space. Follow chart for color changes.

THIRD ROW: Work as second row across to the end.

DECREASE ROW: Turn, sl st in first 3 dc, sl st in next ch 3 space, ch 3, 3 dc in same space. Work across, end with sl st in last ch 3 space.

Working with several balls of yarn at once saves a lot of cutting and ends to weave in.

Corner to corner is a quick, fun stitch, but working with color changes can be challenging. I frequently end up with multiple yarn balls and a huge mess if I'm not careful.

ROUND 1: Join black in any corner with an sc, 2 more sc in same stitch. Sc evenly across each side – 1 sc in the top of each dc (3 in a row) and 2 sc in the side of each dc or ch 3 space – with 3 sc in each corner. Join to first sc with sl st. (approx. 650 sc)

ROUND 2: Sl st in first 3 sc, ch 1, sc in same st. *Skip 2 sc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next sc, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Sl st in first sc to join. Tie off. Weave in ends.

**You might have to fudge the corners a little (only skip one sc a time or two) to get a “point” on each corner.**
